Welcome to our Year 1 class page. Here you will find lots of useful information about what we are learning this year. If you click on the topic headings, you will find some of our work, our knowledge organiser and the key learning questions that we will be answering in our lessons.

Key Information

Year 1 currently has PE on a Tuesday and Thursday – PE kits should be brought in on these two days. As PE can take place indoors or outdoors each week, we encourage your child’s PE kit to be suitable for both.

Home Learning

Children are expected to read at least three times per week and MUST have their reading record signed by a grownup.

Spellings are given to children every Friday (inside their green spelling book) and are tested weekly.

Children have been given a log-in to Numbots, we expect children to be accessing Numbots at least three times per week.

Additional home learning work may be given and is expected to be completed to support the children’s knowledge, understanding and development.

 

During this topic, we will study the geography of our school and its grounds as well as the human and physical features in our local environment.
