Governors
Chair of Governors Welcome
Dear Parents/Carers,
On behalf of the Governing Body, it is my pleasure to welcome you and your child to Park Primary School. We know that you will find it a very friendly, caring school where your child will be nurtured to reach their full potential.
The Governing Body here at Park Primary is made up of eleven dedicated people from a variety of backgrounds and with a variety of skills. The board is made up from parents of the school, members of staff from the school and members of the local community who work together for the good of the school.
Every member of the Governing Body is interested in all aspects of the school. The full Governing Board and relevant committees meet regularly throughout the school year to ensure that:
There is clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction.
We hold leaders to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils along with the effective and efficient performance management of staff.
We oversee the financial performance of the school making sure that its money is well spent.
We are always pleased to hear that parents, carers and children are happy at our school. However, we are aware that you may have questions or concerns from time to time. Any questions or concerns should firstly be addressed to the appropriate member of staff in school who will be more than happy to help you. Should you feel that there is a need to contact the Governors this should be done through the school office.
On behalf of the Governors may we wish your child every success and happiness at Park Primary.
Kindest Regards,
Chris Round (Chair of Governors)
Park Primary School Governing Body
Alan Moseley
I have served as a school governor for 43 years, including 39 years as a chair. During this time, I have chaired an Interim Executive Board (IEB) and served as a National Leader of Governance (NLG). In the NLG role, I was asked to support governing bodies where additional challenge and capacity were required, often working directly with chairs to strengthen governance and leadership.
My experience spans a wide range of educational settings, including maintained schools, PRUs and special schools, and covers all Ofsted categories, from Outstanding to Special Measures.
I first became a governor because I strongly believe that every child, irrespective of ability, deserves a high-quality education that enables them to achieve their very best through a range of effective teaching approaches.
I am proud to be part of a dedicated governing body at Park Primary School. Governors provide strategic oversight, challenge leaders appropriately, and hold them to account for outcomes, attendance, and financial management, while promoting continuous improvement. We also prioritise staff wellbeing, offering support to ensure everyone can reach their full potential. Our expectation is that provision is at least good and continually improving towards out-standing.
Tony Middlebrook
I’m Tony and have recently had the pleasure of joining the Board of Governors at Park school.
After 32 years of working in the Retail Logistics Industry I am now retired which has allowed me the opportunity to bring to the role, a range of skills that I have picked up over the years.
My ethos is to create opportunities which allow people to develop into the best they can be.
With commitment of both the school team and the Governors we can create the environment that the young people deserve.
Gina Parker
Working with children has always been a passion and privilege for me.
On retiring, after more than twenty years as a primary teacher, including several years as a senior leader, I joined the governing body of Park Primary in September 2023.
With a particular interest in EYFS and Key Stage One, I believe every child has the right to reach their full potential. Learning needs to be inclusive, challenging, fun, relevant and supportive with the strongest emphasis on the emotional well-being for every child.
I am proud to be a governor at Park Primary and am determined to use my experience and knowledge to support the school as it moves forward.
IvyAnne Collinson
