PE days are Wednesday (outside) and Thursday (inside). Children should bring appropriate PE kit for the session. If there are any changes, you will be notified by Mr Piper via Dojos on the previous Friday.

Home Learning

Children MUST bring their reading book every day and read at home each night.

Spellings are set every Friday and tested weekly.

Children have log ins for Times Tables Rockstars.

Spelling homework will be given every Friday and there will be regular maths homework also (Mr Piper will post about this on Dojos).

– Topic homework will be given for each of our four topics. Children can earn house points by completing any homework.

Industrial Age

From innovative inventions to murky mills, this topic will take children on a journey through Britain’s Industrial Revolution. What was Britain like in 1750 and how and why had it changed so much by the turn of the twentieth century? Here are some of the key questions we will investigate:

1) When was Britain’s Industrial Age? By what other name was it known?

2) How did the Industrial Revolution change the way Britons lived and interacted with each other?

3) What were some of the most important inventions and how did they transform industry?

4) Did children go to school or work?

5) How did Doncaster contribute to Britain’s economic expansion?

6) How did advances in industry change the way goods and people were transported?
