Governors

Dear Parents/Carers,

On behalf of the Governing Body, it is my pleasure to welcome you and your child to Park Primary School. We know that you will find it a very friendly, caring school where your child will be nurtured to reach their full potential.

The Governing Body here at Park Primary is made up of eleven dedicated people from a variety of backgrounds and with a variety of skills. The board is made up from parents of the school, members of staff from the school and members of the local community who work together for the good of the school.

Every member of the Governing Body is interested in all aspects of the school. The full Governing Board and relevant committees meet regularly throughout the school year to ensure that:

There is clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction.
We hold leaders to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils along with the effective and efficient performance management of staff.
We oversee the financial performance of the school making sure that its money is well spent.
We are always pleased to hear that parents, carers and children are happy at our school. However, we are aware that you may have questions or concerns from time to time. Any questions or concerns should firstly be addressed to the appropriate member of staff in school who will be more than happy to help you. Should you feel that there is a need to contact the Governors this should be done through the school office.

On behalf of the Governors may we wish your child every success and happiness at Park Primary.

Kindest Regards,

Chris Round (Chair of Governors)

Emma Wragg

Information

Hello,

My name is Emma Wragg and I am very honoured to be given the opportunity to join the governing body.  I am the Head of Vega College which is a new Alternative Provision for Key Stage 4 students in Doncaster. I have spent the last two years as Assistant Head and SENDCo in a Junior school in Askern and before that spent 21 years teaching across the primary age range. I bring my love of animals into work with me to support the pupils in the form of therapy/reading rabbits and my dog Buddy. All enjoy the fuss and the students benefit greatly from their unconditional love and calming nature.

Ivyanne Collinson

Information

Hi, My name is Ivyanne and I am a parent Governor at Park Primary. I started my role October 2019, when my child started school at Park Primary. I have really enjoyed getting to work alongside the staff to ensure we are delivering the best for all our children. I am a friendly and outgoing person with 3 children of my own.

My experiences outside of school have led me to a passion for SEN and in order to utilise this strength I am currently the governor for Special Educational Needs.  I like my role as a governor as It enables me to see the school from a different view point which I find really interesting. I am also on the Maths team which I find incredibly exciting and talking to the children about their learning is fascinating.

I hope to continue serving as a governor at Park as I am excited to see where our journey will take us.

Stuart Smith

Information

Hi, my name is Stuart and I am a parent governor here at Park Primary School. My child started at Park Primary in 2019 but I did not become a parent governor until 2021. My reason for wanting to support the school from this position is that I am passionate about all children getting a good education in an environment that supports and promotes their individuality.

Tony Middlebrook

Information

I’m Tony and have recently had the pleasure of joining the Board of Governors at Park school.

After 32 years of working in the Retail Logistics Industry I am now retired which has allowed me the opportunity to bring to the role, a range of skills that I have picked up over the years.

My ethos is to create opportunities which allow people to develop into the best they can be.

With commitment of both the school team and the Governors we can create the environment that the young people deserve.

Gina Parker

Information

Working with young children has always been a privilege for me . Having recently retired, after more than twenty years as a primary teacher, including 14 years as a senior manager, I am excited to be part of the governing body at Park Primary.

I believe every child deserves, every chance, every day and am passionate about making sure learning is stimulating, supportive and challenging.  I am determined to use my experience to support the school on what I know is going to be an extremely exciting journey.

Sam Pritchard

Information

My name is Sam Pritchard and I am currently a Year 4 teacher. During my teaching career, I have taught across all of the Key Stages, including Foundation 2, Years 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5. As well as this, I have three years’ experience as a Teaching Assistant. All of this I feel has given me a good, solid and broad understanding of the curriculum and how it is best implemented across the majority of a primary school to get the best out of our pupils. I also love getting involved in many afterschool clubs, residentials and other extra-curricular events, as it allows the children to broaden both their experiences and confidence in themselves. As a governor, I feel privileged to be part of a forward looking and dynamic team, who are dedicated to making Park Primary an outstanding model of what a primary school can be.

Information

Governing bodies have a vital and demanding role as the strategic leaders of our schools.

I have been a school governor now for 42 years 38 years as a chair. I have chaired an (IEB) Interim Executive Board. I was a (N.L.G) National Leader of Governance which means at times I was asked to go into schools where it is felt that the governing body requires extra support or more to the point the chair. I have worked in a diverse range of schools including maintained schools, PRU’S and special schools with a variety of categories from Outstanding to Special Measures.

I believe all our children deserve the best education we can offer which should be at a minimum good but always aspiring to be outstanding. Governors offer a strategic challenge to the management, this includes challenging targets, progress and assessment from all school leaders including financial matters. We should and do encourage 100% attendance.

I feel privileged and excited to be asked to be part of the team at Park Primary and hope I can offer challenge, support to governors and the SLT including the head and business manager.
