PE Kits should be brought into school on a Monday and left all week as PE days may be subject to change due to weather or other circumstances.
Home Learning
Children MUST bring their reading book every day and read at home each night.
Spellings are set every Friday and tested weekly.

WW2
What impact did WW2 have on Britain?
During this topic we will be looking at how WW2 started, Britain’s involvement and the impact that it had on the British people. To accompany this topic we will be studying the book Letters from the Lighthouse by Emma Carroll.
Our key learning questions:
- Why did Britain have to go to war in 1939?
- Why was it necessary for children to be evacuated and what was it like?
- How was Britain able to stand firm against the German threat?
- How did people manage to carry on normal life in the war and how do we know?
- Why is it difficult to know what life on the Homefront was really like?

The Holocaust
Who was to blame for the Holocaust?
During this topic we will be looking at what the Holocaust was. We will be linking this to National Holocaust Memorial Day and studying some of the key aspects of this time.
Alongside our topic we will be looking at the books Rose Blanche by Roberto Innocenti and Once by Morris Gleitzman.

- What was the Holocaust and who were its victims?
- How and why were the Jews of Germany persecuted before 1939 and how did Britain respond?
- How and why did the Nazis persecute different groups of people?

Evolution and Inheritance
What can we learn about adaptations?
During this topic we will be looking at what Evolution was. We will be studying the work of Charles Darwin and using his book the Theory of Evolution to support us. During this topic we will also be looking at the book Pig Heart Boy by Malorie Blackman, which links to our science learning and topic Animals including Humans.
